Sometimes you make a stop at Ulta to pick up an Eos lip balm and your favorite moisturizer – then find some makeup bits you didn’t know you needed. Here’s my naughty summer Ulta haul!
It’s a dangerous thing, stepping foot into an Ulta or a Sephora. Even when I have a specific shopping list, I just can’t help but meander through the aisles – gazing upon colorful makeup releases that I absolutely don’t need. Except, somehow, a voice starts ringing in my ear, urging me to consider a new concealer because I haven’t tried one in a while…and that Lorac Pro palette really IS beautiful…isn’ it? Maybe I do need some new things after all…
Next thing you know, I’m dashing out the door with a bag full of goodies that extend beyond the Eos lip balm and C.Booth moisturizer (aka, best stuff ever) on my list. Somehow, I managed to pick up an eyeshadow palette and a couple of lipsticks upon my exit. Woopsies!
At the very least, I can say I’ve been pretty darn good this year when it comes to not going overboard on the shopping. As such, I thought I’d open up my orange Ulta bag of goodies and share with you a little haul today. Because, who doesn’t love a good ole’ makeup show and tell? Let’s go!
Tarte CC Undereye Corrector
One of my YouTube favorites Amelia Liana (find her, here) constantly raves on about this Tarte CC Undereye corrector and I figured I needed to test it out for myself. Already being a fan of Tarte’s miraculous Maracuja Concealer, it seemed liked a no brainer to grab this to help cover the pesky dark circles that appear after a late night out with friends. Since this concealer is made with clay, I expect it will be quite thick and nicely plump the undereye area up a bit as well. Here’s too looking more awake in the near future!
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in ‘Patina’
Since I have yet to find the time to secure a Kylie Lip Kit, I’ve been interested in similar products that don’t require mountains of dedication to get your hands on. Enter Stila and their ‘Stay All Day’ liquid lipsticks. I’ve been a fan of Stila’s ‘Stay All Day’ liquid eyeliner for a long while hope the lipsticks are just as good! And, since it was a Kylie Jenner-inspired purchase, I selected a shade that I thought Kylie would approve of: Patina.
Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in ‘Crush’
This spring, I decided to shake things up and go for sheer nude lipsticks – giving my beloved bold full-coverage lippies a rest. Months later, I’ve gotten bored of that and am ready to shake things back up. So OF COURSE I made a stop at the Urban Decay stand to check out their new ‘Vice’ lipsticks. The Vice palette is known for its vivid, bold colors and I just new I’d find the perfect punchy lipstick to liven up my collection for summer. I selected ‘Crush’ – a super HOT pink with a satin finish (sort of like Candy Yum Yum from MAC) and look forward to trying this out.
Lorac Pro Eyeshadow Palette
One would think, after making it this long without the Lorac Pro palette that I was over the hump of needing to purchase it. Yea, I thought so too…but upon making my way to the register I made an impulse grab to get one. *shrugs* I of course will be back with a more in-depth review, but I can say for now that this is one very beautiful palette. It features 8 matte eyeshadows and 8 shimmers, with a color selection that fits every season. I’m going to have fun playing with this one!
