Take a look inside my fall travel makeup bag and discover the beauty essentials I can’t bare to leave behind!
Hello there, dreamers! Just before I headed out of town last week, I asked everyone on my Instagram whether or not they’d be interested in a post on my fall travel makeup bag.
Despite having share about this very same topic one year ago – I found that I was using a whole bunch of new beauty favorites and was curious if anyone would be interested. Overwhelmingly, the answer was yes. 100%! And given that it’s my goal to please you as best I can, that’s what we’re going to talk about today!
Inside My Fall Travel Makeup Bag
If you’re been around Dream in Lace of late, I dare say several of the products inside my fall travel makeup bag won’t come as a surprise.
Many are new releases and/or products I’ve been pretty much raving about nonstop since first trying them out. They’re ‘holy grail’ products that I fully trust to have my back in any and all circumstances. I simply couldn’t leave any of them behind and all piled together? They made for a grand lil’ package inside my suitcase!
So let’s dive in and discuss all the A+ products I packed in my travel makeup kit.
Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream (Shop Now)
There’s really not much I can say about this product that I haven’t shared before, but I’m pretty much obsessed with it! This is what I gravitate towards on the days when I’m just not in the mood for foundation. It gives a nice wash of color correction to your skin that’s virtually weightless and lasts ALL day long. Also, unlike drugstore counterparts, it doesn’t get greasy or patchy as it wears throughout the day. It’s a solid product I’ll continue to repurchase again and again. Highly recommend — especially if you’re looking for a lightweight color correcting product that also comes with an SPF 30.
Revlon Candid Concealer (Shop Now)
Over the summer I shared a review on this concealer and its partner foundation from Revlon. While I do continue to quite like the foundation, I simply cannot LIVE without the concealer — and so obviously I packed it in my fall travel makeup bag. It’s a full coverage concealer that feels like a luxe, expensive formula — at an incredibly reasonable price. Spoiler alert: this is absolutely going in my forthcoming post on the best products of 2019. It’s phenomenal!!
Pat McGrath Sublime Perfection Foundation (Shop Now)
Definitely on the opposite end of the price spectrum, the Pat McGrath Sublime Perfection foundation will cost some serious coin but it’s worth it in my book. I simply can’t get enough of the effortless “filter-worthy” finish it gives my skin and it’s one of the most longwearing foundations I’ve ever used. It also does NOT require a primer — making it kind of perfect for travel. For much more about this high-end foundation, check out my full review here.
Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder (Shop Now)
I’ll be honest, I’m not sure I would’ve packed this Laura Mercier setting powder if I didn’t have this perfect mini travel size — because the full-sized version is pretty bulky! That said, there really aren’t enough positive things I could say about this powder. There’s a reason it’s a favorite basically of every beauty blogger, guru and editor under the sun. The powder is light, soft, finely milled and sets your foundation and concealer in place without getting cake-y.
The Balm Take Me Home Bronzer (Shop Now)
I included The Balm’s bronzer in my summer makeup essentials post and guess what? I’m still in love with it. So naturally it made its way inside my fall travel makeup bag because at the moment I just don’t seem to love any bronzer quite as much as I love this one! It’s got the perfect amount of pigment, blends like a dream, is a neutral brown so can also double up for contouring and has phenomenal staying power. The bronzer is also available in three shades to cover every skin tone. What more could you want?
Tarte ‘Exposed’ Blush (Shop Now)
Revisiting a tried and true classic, I couldn’t resist packing Tarte’s Exposed in my fall travel makeup bag because of just how universal it is. No matter what I’m trying to accomplish with my makeup for the day, it’s there to get the job done and do it well. It’s the perfect matte dusty rose shade and is one I will continue to love for years to come! In fact, I’m pretty confident in saying this is my favorite blush of all time. For real!
Dior Backstage Glow Palette (Shop Now)
Earlier this fall, I shared a full review of both this highlighting palette as well as the new Dior Backstage Custom Eyeshadow palette. While both are great, I decided to leave the eyeshadow at home and bring this beaut along with me! I just LOVE it. It’s so good I dare say you could pack this with you as a trifecta bronzer, highlight and eyeshadow if you were really trying to go light in your suitcase. It’s such a versatile palette.

Dior Ultra Care Lipstick in 480 (Shop Now)
Lip products are where I tend to go overboard, but I made a conscious effort not to over pack for this trip and opted to bring just my #1 lipstick of the season along with me! It’s the perfect “my lips but better” shade and is an easy everyday coral pink that goes with EVERYTHING! The formula is also quite creamy and incredibly moisturizing. Moisturizing being the key word there as nothing makes my skin go more dry like a plane ride. If I could marry a lipstick, this would be the one!
Wet n Wild Photo Focus Eyeshadow Primer (Shop Now)
Since discovering this incredibly affordably and incredibly effective eyeshadow primer from Wet n Wild, I just can’t seem to reach for anything else. It’s tacky. It’s less than $6. It gets the job done and then some!
Tati Beauty Textured Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette (Preorder Now)
If you caught my recent review of the new Tati Beauty eyeshadow palette, you may have caught wind that it’s GOALS. As such, there was simply no other eyeshadow palette worth packing my fall travel makeup bag this season. It’s vegan, cruelty free and has every color and eyeshadow texture I could possibly need on a trip. The palette also includes a full-sized mirror which is especially essential while traveling. Bonus? It’s also what I used to fill in my brows while I was away so…#winning!
Unfortunately the palette is currently sold out but it IS available for pre-order, here.
Lorac Pro Liquid Eyeliner (Shop Now)
I’ve lost count how many of these bad boys I’ve been through at this stage. It seems no matter how many other eyeliners I try, I always find myself reaching for this one. This liner is PERFECT, though! It’s pigmented, applies smoothly, does not smudge and lasts all day long. It’s flawless.
ELF Mineral Infused Mascara (Shop Now)
Another product I can’t seem to stop loving? ELF’s Mineral Infused mascara. At $4 a pop, it’s hard to imagine things could get any better. It creates fluttery, voluminous lashes without any smudging whatsoever. You can also usually get it for even less from ELF’s website since they’re constantly running sales. Hands down on of my favorite drugstore discoveries, ever.
