The red-hot Alexandre Vauthier couture collection that’s destined for the disco…and red carpet!
Let’s kick things off with a very happy discovery: all seasons Dynasty are available for your salacious enjoyment on Amazon Prime. I mention this because the latest Alexandre Vauthier couture collection is a sartorial flashback to the 80’s and I think Sammy Jo (played by the gorgeous Heather Locklear) would look quite smashing in any of these Parisian runway looks. Don’t you think?
Alexandre Vauthier Couture Hits the Disco
No doubt, Alexandre Vauthier couture is a favorite on the red carpet. The 2017 Grammy Awards are just around the corner and I’m eyeing this collection, speculating just which Spring 2017 couture looks could make an appearance. Turning up the heat, Alexandre Vauthier called upon it-girls Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner to strut their stuff down the runway. Bella opened the runway show in a metallic, one-shouldered cocktail dress with a VERY high hemline. From there, we’re treated to a steady stream of disco flare – complete with dramatic trains and one-shoulder creations.
For Spring 2017, Alexandre Vauthier focused the color palette on vivid red, white, silver – and of course – signature black. As we all plug away at our fast-paced 2017 lives, the collection ignites a welcomed spark that dates back to the disco days of the eighties. I feel ready to to throw on some Debby Harry and dance the night away and I think you will be too!
Let’s kick things off with Bella Hadid strutting her stuff:
One thing that jumped out at me IMMEDIATELY over the latest Alexandre Vauthier couture collection was how reminiscent the silhouettes and drapery are to Atelier Versace’s Fall 2016 couture collection. (You can review that collection at Vogue, here.)
Given how the Atelier Versace collection was such a smash on the red carpet and only debuted last fall, it seems hard to believe Alexandre Vauthier wouldn’t be well aware of these similarities. Yet, while some looks are very similar to the Versace line, others are very true to form Vauthier. The collection featured the signature sleek black evening gowns we all crave and love, adorned with angular cutouts and a whole lot of sass.
One thing’s for sure, an Alexandre Vauthier couture collection always makes me feel like stepping up my Pilates and squats game. The asymmetrical hemlines are always sky-high and the fit super-slim. Alexandre Vautheir designs feel like flashier Saint Laurent, sprinkled with Versace, and I am by no means complaining. The Spring 2017 collection in particular feels like a sexpot trip back to the disco days and I’m ready to hit the dance floor.
Definitely keep your eyes pealed on Sunday’s Grammy red carpet because one of these gowns could very well make an appearance. I’ll of course be live-tweeting the whole event, so be sure to follow me on Twitter and join in for lots of fun, fashion and snark. The Grammys are in a category of their own and the red carpet is nothing short of HIGHLY entertaining. It’s going to be a delight and trust me, during the show, there will be dancing.
As always, thank you so much for reading! Let me know which gown is your favorite and if you’re planning to start doing some squats immediately, too. *wink*
Thank you to Alexandre Vauthier for providing these gorgeous runway images. To see these beautiful clothes in action, be sure to watch the runway video on their website, here!
