This year, for my Thanksgiving makeup look, I wanted to really celebrate the colors of the fall season.
Happy Thanksgiving, dreamer! I’m excited to share with you my latest Thanksgiving makeup look today. With copper eyes and berry lips, I am 100% ready to give thanks and eat pumpkin pie! Each year, I try to have fun and create something new for my Thanksgiving makeup look, to go all out (so to speak) with autumn tones. This year, I wanted to create something warm and inviting, tying into the theme of Thanksgiving and complimenting the red tones of my hair.
So here’s a little Thanksgiving Makeup Tutorial for you – which can also doubles as a great everyday makeup look. I’ve worn this face a couple times and always get compliments on it, especially with the eyes. Exciting news, the Lancome eyeshadow I use is virtually indestructible until you remove it at the end of the day – a big perk, considering there’s a lot of eating, drinking and socializing on Thanksgiving, leaving little time for touching up your makeup.
How to Create this Thanksgiving Makeup Look:
Step one, of course, is to apply your foundation. I dug out Estee Lauder‘s Perfectionist foundation, as it has a good amount of coverage and is also moisturizing on the skin, being infused with their legendary Advanced Night Repair serum. After foundation, I dabbed concealer on the redness by my nose and under my eyes. The NYX Full Coverage concealer is an oldie and a goodie. I like it because it does have a lot of coverage, and is very smooth and creamy to work with.
To brighten a little bit, I then used Estee Lauder‘s Double Wear BB Highlighting pen. I put that in a “V” shape under my eyes, down the center of my nose and a slight amount in the center of my forehead. I then set everything using a powder by MAC.
With by base complete, I moved on to my cheeks – starting with brushing The Body Shop‘s Honey Bronzer in an outer “3” on my face, hitting areas the sun naturally kisses the skin. I love this bronzer because it warms up the skin naturally, and doesn’t appear chalky or fake. On the apple of my cheeks, I dabbed on Estee Lauder‘s Alluring Rose blush, which is a nice autumnal shade. I then topped that up using a little bit of Physician Formula‘s shimmer brick.
Now Onto the Eyes!
I wanted to really celebrate the season for this Thanksgiving makeup look, so I selected the most beautiful “copper” eyeshadow. Lancome‘s Hypnose Dazzling eyeshadow in the shade Brun Cabas is seriously…my favorite eyeshadow development of the year. It’s gorgeous! I apply that all over my lid, blending just with my finger. You could stop there, but I added the darkest brown of Clinique‘s Pink Chocolate eyeshadow quad for some variation in tone. For eyeliner, lately – I’m really back into traditional pencils. I used a brown pro-longwear eyeliner by MAC, and built it up on the corners of my eyes…and then smudged out using a pencil brush.
On the lower lash line, I used a MAC 239 brush to apply a bit of the cream eyeshadow on the inner half of my eye. Then, I added more of the MAC eyeliner in my waterline and blended into the copper shadow. For mascara, I simply couldn’t pass up my favorite YSL Baby Doll, which is amazing and lengthening your lashes.
For the finishing touch, I added my very well-loved Laura Mercier eyebrow pencil to fill in my brows. I’m blessed with naturally full eyebrows, but I like using that to just even them out and give them a little bit more pop, especially as it is one of the trendy eyebrow styles at the moment! On the lips, I used the glorious Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick in the shade ‘Etienne’. What I like about this lipstick, is it’s a great way to wear a bolder color…having a more sheer feel to the lips. It’s also a gorgeous, gorgeous color…I mean, come on. Just look at it! #Love
