Having trouble keeping up with the runway collections this season? You’re not alone. The Spring/Summer 2016 runways of Milan Fashion Week have been collecting dust for days on end for me, which is a big change from how rabidly I’m usually scouring the web for the latest runway shows. To make everyone’s life a little easier, here’s all the top SS16 looks you need to see!
My fellow fashionistas know the drill. Fashion Month brings a whole lot of refreshing and rechecking of Style.com (which is now Vogue Runway, which we should totally discuss, by the way…). It’s a balance of scrolling Twitter, checking Instagram and watching any and every live-stream you can find. That surge of energy as powerhouses like Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Gucci crank up the music and send their first look down the runway, saying: Game. On.
And Milan Fashion Week is one I am so particularly fond of, with Milan’s commitment to glamour and sex appeal. The clothes have attitude and a whole lot of spice. Definitely not as tame as the refined and polished runways of Paris, yet much more established than the rising talent in New York and London. Milan Fashion Week, to me – is quintessential drama. Bold, domineering and perhaps sometimes even a little bit crass.
Basically: fashion is just a hell of a lot of fun in Milan. Which makes it disappointing that life and to-do lists have put a bit of a damper on my usual routine and excitement of ferociously following the MFW madness. BUT, today is Saturday, and between picking up my new iPhone 6s (yes!) and spending a couple hours at work, I was able to cozy up to a flatbread pizza at Nordstrom’s Bistro Cafe and put in some serious “catch up” time.
I figure I can’t be the only one behind on the Spring/Summer 2016 runways of Milan Fashion Week, so I’ve created a roundup of all my must-see looks from the runways. My favorite collections overall, thus far, include Etro and Gucci. Oh MY how gorgeous they both are. I also appreciate Jeremy Scott’s latest for Moschino, because at the very least – he’s reminded me that my car really does need a car wash right now.
And so, dreamers, I bring you, the best Spring/Summer 2016 looks from Milan Fashion Week, thus far!
Quick note on Vogue Runway, I’m feeling like Vogue has definitely stepped up their game from their previous coverage of Fashion Month runways…but they’re no where near as quick to deliver runway shots as Style.com. Style practically shared images in real0-time, meaning you could be in line at Starbucks and virtually watching the runway straight from your iPhone. Oh technology, what a beautiful thing.
Even though I have had some doubts, I’m working to keep an open mind in hopes that it just has a few new kinks to work out — as any new business venture endures. Once we’re across those hurdles, there will hopefully be a few kinks worked out for smooth(er) sailing down the way.
Feel free to share your feedback on Vogue‘s latest online venture and if you have a favorite collection at Milan Fashion Week yet. I’m still holding out hope for Dolce to be amazing, but you never know!
Thank you so much for reading, and as always, have an amazing day!
