I’ve never seen the iHeartRadio Music Awards before, nor paid attention to the red carpet, but I took a stab in the dark and agreed to cover the red carpet a couple weeks back. Thus, I interrupted my Bloodline binge-fest on Netflix, (watch it! SO GOOD) to peruse the red carpet looks of – apparently – one very lackluster event. Turns out, the iHeartRadio Music Awards are not the next Grammy’s…or the next anything…
But, I AM committed to honoring my editorial calendar, thus we can very quickly blow through the red carpet fashions of the night. (And then promptly forget them 2 minutes later.)
It’s Monday guys, let’s have some fun. Here are my immediate reactions to the red carpet!
REACTION: I never really understood the major hype surrounding Pitch Perfect – and this isn’t doing anything to help me understand the appeal of a sequel. Cute braid, though!
REACTION: Girls, why so scary? Are they rebranding as a girl group of Rob Zombie enthusiasts? I’m confused.
Also, why is the one 2nd from the right doing squats?
REACTION: I think Greer is Kelsey Grammar’s daughter, and presumably on a mission to be the next Paris Hilton. This looks like a naughty-librarian costume, available for purchase at Halloween Express
REACTION: Dior has never looked so sloppy.
REACTION: This feels very Gwen Stefani to me. Gwen Stefani after getting a perm. I like it. It’s fine.
REACTION: JOE is working double duty on the red carpet, by paying homage to Christmas Eve table cloths everywhere — AND campaigning for a guest role on Outlander.
REACTION: I want to like this because I love Meghan, but I can’t shake the idea that a button popped off on her jacket leaving her bustier exposed. Sure, it’s not REALLY a wardrobe malfunction when it’s planned…but this appears as a wardrobe malfunction — therefore, to me, it is.
REACTION: That’s the saddest yellow has ever looked.
REACTION: Oh Taylor, girl…I wanted so much more from you. Why so boring, girl?
REACTION: Basically by default, Zendaya wins my pick for ‘Best Dressed’. Colorful, fun, energetic? She gets a pass.
Fear not, there’s bigger red carpets yet to come this year – with Cannes and the MET Gala just around the corner, our eyes will once again feast upon haute couture. No worries!
In the meantime, share your immediate gut reactions to the red carpet looks of last night’s iHeartRadio Music Awards! Who is your vote for Best and Worst Dressed of the night?
