As spectacular as evening wear is, I was seriously drooling over the daytime looks at Naeem Khan‘s Spring 2015 Collection runway show at New York Fashion Week. Khan has evening wear nailed down, and is master of the ballgown – but cool, sporty daytime looks stole the show. (Which was seriously hard to do considering the seriously beautiful ballgown competition.)

New York Fashion Week : Day 5 Runway Report
Morning dreamers! Hope you’re well, energized and ready to kick some butt today.
Turns out, I’m actually really liking the idea of the Runway Report for each day of Fashion Week. It’s a great way to wrap things up and showcase collections I don’t have quite enough time to fully review.
On that note, we’ve GOT to talk Day 5. Day 5 of New York Fashion Week showcased an extremely eclectic group of designers, each with their very own approach to Spring fashion. From Thom Browne‘s famous theatrics, to Donna Karan and Caroline Herrara‘s sophisticated and regal gowns there was something for everyone, and every scene. Even Tommy Hilfiger got into the mix, in what was a surprising favorite of the day for me. (See that full collection here.) The cool, marching band meets rock-girl vibe with rich burgundy was a really hit on the runway, featuring several covetable items – including some killer jackets.
One other (sad) surprise was Zac Posen‘s Spring 2015 Collection, which was a surprise in its disappointment. It was a beautiful collection no doubt, but felt already done by Posen..and when worn on the same model faces, it seemed even more duplicative. But despite it’s downsides, Posen did feature some brilliant pops of color, rounding out the day to be a rainbow of colors (and textures).
Reem Acra was also a standout collection, and probably a personal best collection. It was modern, clean and totally wearable. Even though the models were extremely narrow, it was nice to see lines that would easily flatter a woman with some extra curves to love. And of course, with every passing Reem Acra look – I once again long for some Prom like function to have an excuse to wear such a pretty gown. (But not prom, no way do I want to endure high school another time around ;P)
Day 6 is set to be another big one, with Spring 2015 collections debuting from Rodarte, Naeem Khan, Jenny Packham, Oscar de la Renta and much much more! Are you holding on? Because there’s still way more to come! For now, browse through yesterday’s runway looks AND be sure to let me know which one is your favorite!
And please, if you too are sharing commentary on NYFW, send me your links! While I basically live in a whirlwind right now, I always take a moment to enjoy other’s perspectives from the runway.
On that note, enjoy your day! And, if you are craving more Spring 2015, visit the Fashion Week Directory.

NYFW : Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2015 Collection
Considering the runways are at buzz with sportswear, it feels only fitting to pay close attention the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2015 Collection…because Tommy Hilfiger has been putting the sport in women’s wear since day 1. For Spring 2015, the fashion house created an edgy (and bohemian) marching band, complete with deep burgundies, metallic booties, button details…with scarves trailing behind.
It’s great to see that Tommy Hilfiger is still rocking it. To be quite honest, they’ve sort of been back-burnered in my mind when it comes to designer fashion, but they prove to be very much still relevant and very much a great fit for the young, cool girl who is not afraid to get in a bit of trouble. Note the cheek tattoos and smokey eyes, not to mention a bad girl pout.

NYFW : Day 4 Runway Report
Good morning sunshines! I’m bringing New York Fashion Week coverage to you in a new way today, with a Day 4 Runway Report! There was just so much goodness happening on the runway that I couldn’t possibly pick and choose what collections to cover. The day was filled with color, kimonos, stripes and more! With collections from Derek Lam, Diana von Furstenberg, Thakoon, Victoria Beckham, DKNY, Vivienne Tam, and more…it was obviously, just jammed.
DKNY & DVF both presented collections filled with color and prints. They were lively, enthusiastic collections that celebrate the life of spring and summer seasons. Edun and Thakoon both featured looks inspired by the orient, with kimono-type jackets, sashes and even pants. Victoria Beckham and Derek Lam kept things classic, with regal khaki and streamlined silhouettes – but both did throw in a splash few splashes of color to spice things up. Beckham in particular threw in color as a complete unexpected twist, with a very hot pink floral print. Vivienne Tam continued the sportswear takeover – with adorable shift dresses, complete with mesh shoulders. Mesh continued a part in the collection throughout – later adding in tropical prints to bringing a vacation aesthetic to the runway.
It was a beautiful day for fashion, and included a star-studded moment when Naomi Campbell stepped in to close the DVF show. (Kendall Jenner was also spotted at DVF, you know..if you’re into the whole Kardashian thing ;))
And so kick back and browse through the looks of this busy, but incredible day for fashion!
Wishing everyone a fantastic and productive week! For those of you more into beauty – definitely check out my Fall Makeup Tutorial that went up today, and features a must-have fall eyeshadow palette from Smashbox. Let me know what other fall makeup posts you’d like to see!

NYFW : Rebecca Taylor Dazzles for Spring 2015
When it comes to spring fashion, Rebecca Taylor totally steals the show. She is a slam dunk when it comes to beautiful pops of color and soft, willowy textures of the runway – all with her signature air of grace. And for Spring 2015 Collection, she really hit the mark from the opening range of purple paisley prints to the closing pleated tiered skirt with bejeweled blouse.
To me, this collection feels like a celebration of spring – and all the things that make it such a special season. The colors, the textures, the florals…it’s like a songbird for the season. An unexpected twist that really works is the use of chartreuse in pants, but also in croptop overlays. In a way those looks remind me of Spring 2014 Prada, but with a much softer edge to the vibrant bold colors of that collection.
