From Etro to Max Mara, enjoy a feast of the best MFW Spring 2025 looks off the runway from Italy’s fashion capital.
It’s September which means one thing: the high fashion runways are erupting in splendid chaos.
It’s a good thing Italy makes such fine coffee as the Milan Fashion Week schedule this season is jam-packed and you just know photographers are in need of an espresso (or two… or six) to survive the whirlwind pace of Lady Gaga’s famous “No sleep. Bus. Club. Another club” except replace club with venues scattered around one of the world’s most beautiful cities.
Milan’s an exciting city to watch this season as brands like Etro, Gucci and Roberto Cavalli have new creative directors finding their footing while breathing new life into legacy houses. Of course the creative shakeup continues in Paris as well. High fashion finds itself in a bit of a modern Renaissance period and it’s exciting! That’s the beauty of fashion. Just when things start to get stale – it moves in a different direction.
Best MFW Spring 2025 Looks Off the Runway
Perched over a steaming cup of very strong coffee and Vogue Runway, I found myself rather impressed by the spectrum of designs we’re catching from Milan this season. Some even took me by surprise — like Versace resurfacing a 90s-style print across a collection of garments.
Breezy organza, crisp A-line silhouettes and a surprising surplus of browns reflect a Spring 2025 season that strikes a chord with fashionistas that crave wardrobe pieces that reflect moods over trends. Bottega Veneta and Del Core embrace knitwear for spring with daytime pieces that are perfect for nailing that presentation at work.
To satiate your style inspiration and start planning the roadmap for seasons to come, enjoy an assortment of the best MFW Spring 2025 looks off the runway, below!
ALBERTA FERRETTI
As she steps down from her namesake label, the season featured Alberta Ferretti’s swan song and this vibrant, breezy burst of sunshine is definitely among the best MFW Spring 2025 looks off the runway that would be perfect an evening in full vacation mode.
ANTEPRIMA
ANTONIO MARRAS
Mixed print with an A-line silhouette so sharp you better watch your thumb.
BOTTEGA VENETA
It didn’t take a crystal ball to predict that BV would deliver some of the best MFW Spring 2025 looks on the runway of Italy’s fashion capital. The heritage brand is likewise in a new era with soft plays on knitwear for spring.
DEL CORE
DOLCE AND GABBANA
A look that will never go out of style? A sexy D&G corset dress.
ETRO
At the helm, Marco De Vincenzo is keeping Etro’s signature love of prints alive but it’s a seasonally appropriate fishnet top that solidifies this as one of the best MFW Spring 2025 looks off the runway.
FERRAGAMO
GUCCI
While Alessandro Michele’s tenure at Gucci is one that definitely holds its rightful place in fashion history, his vision for the Italian luxury brand is no doubt strikingly different than the approach we’re seeing from new creative director Sabato De Sarno. He’s still finding his way at the house but a sleek sophistication in the realm of say, Tom Ford, jumps off the page.
GUCCI
A look included simply because the cinched waist leather jacket is molto bello.
GUCCI
Sabato de Sarno’s resume includes studying Pattern Making at the Carlo Secoli Fashion Institute and 14 years at Valentino. Checks out!
HUI
Soft print and lightweight materials make this a perfect option for an elevated daytime like.
MARNI
A sleek, sexy and Old Hollywood style silhouette that’s rich with glamour.
MARNI
An A-line masterpiece that feels fit for a red carpet style event – not something we usually see from Marni but it’s definitely one of the best MFW Spring 2025 looks that feels like an art piece as much as it is a special occasion garment.
MAX MARA
It’s a no brainer that Max Mara would be among the best MFW Spring 2025 looks off the runway was as Ian Griffiths delivers time and time again but the SS25 collection is really among some of his finest work of years late. Chic, functional and timeless.
MAX MARA
MISSONI
Ever since Filippo Grazioli step foot at the helm of Missoni in 2022, it’s been fun to observe how he’s freshening up the signature label over its years prior. And while this dress may add a reminder to your list to get a carwash, it’s undeniably fun.
MISSONI
Geometry has always been a feature of the Missoni label and I’d like to see the completed theorems behind this fabulous 3-dimension maxi skirt.
PRADA
SPORTMAX
Organza overlay with sparkle. Sold!
VERSACE
Vittoria graciously walked the runway in a mirror ball skirt surprisingly well-suited for daytime.
