10 TELEVISION SHOWS WORTH BINGE-WATCHING
Better Call Saul
To be released to Netflix this month, Better Call Saul is an upstanding spin-off to Breaking Bad (which if you haven’t yet, you really ought to watch asap). The show follows Jimmy – who is Saul, before he becomes Saul – as he struggles to jump-start his personal law practice. It features a whole new cast of characters, a new tone and a new level of appreciation for the genius that is Vince Gilligan. (Netflix)
Bloodline
While everyone is loving House of Cards, I vote Bloodline the number one Netflix original drama. The story follows a family living in the Florida Keys, with a lot of secrets. It’s a puzzle of past, present and future scenes that come together piece by piece for a satisfying and dramatic conclusion. A thrill-ride you’ll definitely enjoy! (Netflix)
Death Comes to Pemberley
For the Downton Abbey and Pride and Prejudice lover, Death Comes to Pemberley is a must-see. It’s a three part mini-series on Netflix that continues the story of Darcy and Lizzie Bennett, who find themselves at the heart of a shocking murder mystery. The costumes and scenery are exquisite and the writing has the infectious Jane Austen wit we all know and love. (Netflix)
Nashville
Nashville is something like Gossip Girl meets The Voice. Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere play opposing country music stars, with a lot of family and relationship drama in between. The show features a talented ensemble cast that give both dishy drama and incredible musical performances. Bones: Connie Britton’s hair goals. (Hulu)
Mad Dogs
I think of this show as Entourage meets Bloodline. Four men are invited by a college friend to his beautiful home in tropical Belize. When they arrive, it’s all fun and alcohol…until things take an unexpected turn for the worse. Mad Dogs is a thriller with a lot of comedic hijinks along the way. (Amazon Prime)
The Killing
When it comes to crime shows, The Killing is top notch. Based in Seattle, seasons 1 and 2 follow the same case – while seasons 3 and 4 each have their own. What really makes this show addictive is how real the characters and storylines feel. (Netflix)
Hart of Dixie
If you’re looking for a fun, light-hearted show – Hart of Dixie is perfect! It follow Dr. Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson) as the moves to a small southern town that has a lot of attractive hotties and darling southern belles like Lemon Breeland (Jamie King). It’s a feel-good show that has surprisingly chic fashion and a whole lot of charm. (Netflix)
Grace and Frankie
Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are charming and hilarious in Netflix’s original Grace and Frankie. The show opens with two husbands revealing to their wives that they’re gay lovers over dinner. From there, things really kick-off. The show features a well-rounded and hilarious cast of characters as these families try to awkwardly blend. Prepare to laugh! (Netflix)
The Royals
If you miss Gossip Girl, you will LOVE The Royals. Elizabeth Hurley is Queen – of a naughty British royal family. It’s a fast-paced show that has both great scandal, humor and fashion….including loads of really fantastic hats. (Amazon Prime)
The Bridge
On the border of Texas and Chihuahua, Mexico – two detectives on opposite sides find themselves working together to locate a serial killer. From there, a lot of mysteries unfold, weaving a web of money laundering, crooked cops and the cartel. Bonus: it stars the wonderful Diane Kruger. (Hulu)
