Recently, I caught up with the show Reign and it got me thinking about how to dress like a princess in my everyday life. Because, while I may not be a royalty…I can certainly dress like I am.
Shortly after it’s fall 2013 debut, I shared with you a post on how to copy Reign‘s style for yourself (here), and it continues to get lots of traffic monthly. Turns out, I’m not the only one wanting to steal the style of The CW’s royal primetime drama. Reign is now in its third season and the fashion is every bit on point, if not better. Today, I wanted to share an updated post discussing just how you can turn your everyday look into one like Lady Mary and her court.
How can you dress like ‘Reign’ in your everyday life?
While Mary and her ladies are fully costumed, you can definitely emulate their style with modern pieces that play with lace, velvet and embellishment. It also never hurts to decorate your hair with some sparkling glitz in the form of a headband or hairpin — as well as decorate your locks with braids sprinkled throughout.
For your Reign fashion inspiration, I poked around the internet pulling looks that perfectly represent the style of our favorite leading ladies. And…I may have gone a bit overboard. As it turns out, there are loads of dresses with rich embroidery, statement necklaces and princess flats out there that just scream royalty – 21st century style.
To help you craft your royal wardrobe, here is a selection of fashion and accessories that will turn you into a modern Queen Mary. And….why wouldn’t you want that?
Feeling on royal fashion overload? Me too! But, isn’t there always an excuse to add a little lace and sparkle to your wardrobe?
Here’s to the continued brilliance of Reign‘s costume design and the ongoing drama of Mary, her royal duty – and lovers. If you haven’t seen the show before, definitely hit Netflix to watch seasons 1 and 2. Beyond the stunning fashion, there are several hotties that are worth your attention. (Seriously, lots of eye candy going on.)
Thank you so much for reading and let me know how you bring “princess” fashion into your personal wardrobe! While we may not actually be royalty…we can damn well dress like we are.
Lots of love and wishing you a fabulous weekend!
