When it comes to Burberry, I think we can all agree they are King of the trench coat. But, in recent history their collections have started to pronounce a new victor in their reigns: the skirt. More specifically, they’re reinventing the elongated pencil silhouette – bringing new life to the classic with added textures and bling.
Their Resort 2015 Collection was full of standard, gorgeous coats and leather bags – but it was the happenings of the skirt region that had me really excited. I think since 1989, every girl has dreamed of becoming Arial in The Little Mermaid. While we won’t likely become actual mermaids (sadly), Burberry makes this dream a bit more within our grasp with stunning scale-like skirts that emulate Arial’s mermaid tail. I love how flattering these are for the female silhouette. They celebrate a woman’s curves – and the added texture provides some insurance for a smooth line 😉
Burberry is pulling into the lead in the skirt department; proving they’re much more than a trench coat!
