Meet the most over-the-top looks of the Dolce and Gabbana Spring 2019 runway at Milfan Fashion Week. Because when it comes to fashion, extra is more fun! (Clearly.)
MFW: Dolce and Gabbana Sing L’Amore Italia for Spring
As is custom at Dream in Lace, let’s talk the latest Dolce and Gabbana runway show at Milan Fashion Week. It’s a tradition that will hopefully continue for years to come, and today – it seems extra special as the Spring/Summer 2016 collection was a celebration of Italy itself. L’amore Italia, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana boasted as they presented a parade of 90+ looks honoring Italy’s rich culture and beauty.
Your Milan Fashion Week ‘Spring 2016’ Cheat-Sheet
Having trouble keeping up with the runway collections this season? You’re not alone. The Spring/Summer 2016 runways of Milan Fashion Week have been collecting dust for days on end for me, which is a big change from how rabidly I’m usually scouring the web for the latest runway shows. To make everyone’s life a little easier, here’s all the top SS16 looks you need to see!
Trend Alert: Metallic on the Fall 2015 Runways
The Fall 2015 Ready-to-Wear runways have shown a significant amount of 70’s boho chic, but it’s another a trend that REALLY caught my eye: metallic. After all, who doesn’t love a little sparkle and shine in their life? Metallic made its first appearance at Misha NoNoo, when the usually minimal aesthetic was injected with metallic blazers and turtlenecks at New York Fashion Week. Then metallic found its way to London for Temperley London and more lately, Blumarine‘s disco ready runway at Milan Fashion Week.
We’re just about two-thirds of our way through Fashion Month and metallic shows NO sign of slowing down. And with Paris Fashion Week yet to come, it’s exciting to think of possibilities from houses like Saint Laurent or Alexander McQueen. Heck, perhaps Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel will add some metallic to the pot! (Come on Karl, do it!) Suffice to say, I’m kind of excited by the prospects for my coming fall wardrobe.
MFW : Roberto Cavalli Spring 2015 Collection
Every now and then a collection so fantastic comes along I literally get like squealing excitement. It’s odd. I know. But when Roberto Cavalli presented the Spring 2015 Collection today at Milan Fashion Week I was giddy like Christmas morning. (Minus the wrapping paper!) Cavalli’s slim and breezy silhouettes were paraded with bright colors that are so great they inspire the hippie inside us all. If you weren’t already a flower-power, smoking marijuana and dancing the night away at Coachella type – perhaps you will be now?
And while black also had a statement in the collection, it felt anything but minimal. Sheer panels as stripes with bejeweled embellishments are fun, sexy and yes, totally flirty (standard for a Cavalli collection). I think in general, the detailing of this collection is of couture level. It’s probably the most intricate detailing we’ve seen thus far on the Spring runways, which says a lot as jewel encrusted wonders have basically been everywhere!
MFW : Versace Sparkles for Spring 2015 Collection
Apologies for not getting this up sooner, because Versace is always a highlight of Milan Fashion Week – and the Spring 2015 Collection sparkles and dazzles! It’s a non-stop dance party (at least for me) when Versace shows on the runways, and after some let down collections from Gucci and Prada I was happy to see Versace completely on point!
It was a collection to bring out the superhero inside each of us! And honestly, who in their right mind doesn’t want to be a superstar?
