2014 was a great year in the blogging world, making it quite difficult to narrow down my list to Top 5 Must-Read Blogs of the year. So when it came to picking my favorites, I had to go with the ladies that have me “clicking” to their latest post faster than I can even say the word. My fingers immediately spring to action to see just what’s up from these great gals – who each have very different approaches to blogging, with the same end result: content I devour in a flash. Maybe you could be a new favourite of mine if you start your own blog! Sites like Bio could get you off to a good start!
Get your fingers ready…here are my 5 favorite blogs of the year!
What Olivia Did
In 2014, I was always excited to see just what Olivia was up to; so it’s no mistake What Olivia Did became a favorite on my BlogLovin’ feed. Her stylish adventures took me through her closet and around the world, all from the comfort of my own home. Olivia’s warm writing style and inviting photos bring you along as she embarks on travels and hits local hot spots. The girl also has a real knack for putting together a perfect outfit, not to mention making the most of her surroundings. It was a great year in Olivia’s world and I’m excited to she what she gets up to in 2015.
Microscope Beauty
I discovered Kayla of Microscope Beauty while awaiting an oil-change at Honda. We connected randomly on Twitter over car names, (mine’s Darcy by the way) and from there I become an avid reader of her blog. Kayla’s tastes basically mirror my own, so I’m always excited to see her current loves in hopes of discovering new gems! She’s like your girl-next-door best friend , even though you may never have met. Kayla also stands out from other beauty bloggers by sharing her studious college adventures and tidbits of her life, such as fun trips to the apple orchard. Microscope Beauty is update frequently, so bookmark it and come back often!
The College Prepster
Odd fact: I love scouring the #Foodie tag on Instagram, nosing into what people are eating around the globe. What can I say? Salivating over what strangers’ had for dinner is oddly filling? So it was through a delicious photo of ice cream that I found Carly and I’ve been following her New York adventures ever since! Her blog The College Prepster is a fun, quirky read about her preppy adventures in the Big Apple. She talks fashion, food, life, inspiration and all things cute! Carly also has an adorable doggie who might just steal your heart 😉
Coco’s Tea Party
One of the very first blogs I followed *ever* was Coco’s Tea Party, by Ella Gregory, and 2014 only solidified my love of this gal’s point of view on all things fashion, beauty and life! Ella’s a London based blogger, but standouts from the crowd with her innate sense of chic and bubbling energy. She’s shines like a real life Serena Van der Woodsen and seriously knows her stuff from luxury fashion to London hotspots. Coco’s Tea Party is a window into Ella’s stylish life and I can’t wait to see what awaits in 2015!
The Clothes Horse
When it comes to on-location photoshoots, no one does it better than The Clothes Horse by the lovely Rebecca. Her outfit posts read like an editorial spread of a fine fashion magazine with beautiful scenery always perfectly matching her outfit to a tee. Rebecca masterfully uses her surroundings to bring her style to life – in a way that will have you pin, pin pinning away! I also love that her fashion isn’t about having the latest and greatest on-trend items, but an appreciation for things retro and gently used. Her vintage look will have you inspired to skip the mall and hit your local second-hand shops.
