Well, fashionistas! As we start the transition out of summer, today we’re checking in on the St John Fall 2021 collection as well as celebrating the new era the brand finds itself in.
Creative Director Zoe Turner debuted her first St John collection in Spring 2020 after several successful posts at major houses in Milan and Paris. The British designer’s career in fashion began at Alberta Ferretti before moving onto Christian Dior.
At Dior, she worked alongside John Galliano as Senior Director of haute couture and then as Director of Knitwear with Raf Simmons. Following Dior, Turner returned to Italy for some time at Max Mara before accepting the creative director role at St John.
I mention Turner’s resume as her work at Dior and Max Mara especially will translate well into a heritage brand like St John.
Founded in 1962 by Robert and Marie Gray, St John has specialized in feminine knits and classical silhouettes for nearly six decades. These are areas where Turner has a proven successful track record and her finesse can inject new life into the brand in this next chapter.
“I really want to remain deeply rooted to the company,” Turner told WWD. “I hope to bring the company into a new era of modern luxury.”
ST JOHN FALL 2021 COLLECTION
For her St John Fall 2021 collection specifically, Zoe Turner focused on reinventing the brand’s signature tweed styles while balancing playfulness in the chicest way possible.
The collection features green, blue and space-dye tweed on a variety of classic jackets but also on more relaxed pieces like joggers.
The Fall 2021 collection also welcomes cheerful bursts of color like a lush cherry red and elegant lilac purple. Perhaps the most lively pieces, however, are the delicious Dalmatian print trench coat, sheath dress and blouses.

Back to Black
As much as we all love to play with vibrant colors, the timelessness of black will truly never go out of style. St John’s Fall 2021 collection includes an array of wardrobe staples. Edgier styles like leather and peplum jackets with cutouts are balanced by everyday blouses and a simple-yet-elegant cocktail dress.
St John’s jewelry is crafted with natural stones and organic materials. The Fall 2021 collection includes large, Roman-inspired statement pieces that will make a bold addition to your daily attire. Pieces also come in a wide range of gemstones.
