Festive Christmas reads that are perfect to cozy up with during the holiday season!

Festive Christmas Reads for the Holidays I Blogmas 2019

If you’re looking for the perfect book to cozy up with during the holidays – this post is just for you!

Admittedly, I don’t talk much about books around these parts. While I start a many, there are very few that hold my attention long enough to where I actually finish the story. This November, though, I discovered a little trick. Being such a big fan of the holidays, I sought out festive Christmas reads. The more they sounded like a Hallmark film? The better!

Turns out, this approach was effective because I’ve already finished several Christmasy books this season with many more sitting in the wings on my iPad.

Festive Christmas Reads for 2019

Whether you’re a struggling reader like me or an avid reader looking for new titles to add to your TBR, I hope today’s list of festive Christmas reads will be of use to you.

All of the books I’m sharing today are warm, uplifting reads geared towards getting you in the holiday spirit. They’re books that pair nicely with a plate of cookies as well as a mug of hot chocolate or tea.

These festive Christmas reads are also a great way to give yourself a well-deserved mental break. As you know, reading in general is a nice way to temporarily checkout from reality. As such, the books on this list are perfect for a little mental vacay. If you ask me, mentally traveling to a cozy world filled with happy endings is the perfect way to get in the spirit of the season. Happy reading!

As their lives unexpectedly entwine, Elle learns that he is a recently returned Vietnam POW and is not only fighting demons from his past but may also have the answer to her own secret pain – a revelation that culminates in a remarkable act of love and forgiveness.

There she’s to participate in a series of seasonal activities as a means of finding the holiday spirit. At camp, Haley connects with Jeff — son of the Bed & Breakfast. Jeff wants his dad to sell the inn while Haley devises a plan to save it. Their relationship takes a hit that only the magic of the season can fix. hit.  Now it will take the magic of the season to bring these two hearts together.

Through Christmas Eve, they intend to pretend to be a couple to survive the pressures of the holiday season together. There are four rules: no personal questions, no drama, no telling anyone the truth and the contract ends on Christmas day.

As the charade progresses, the safety of the fake relationship begins to mend Elise’s broken heart. But just as she begins to find joy again, her long-held secret threatens to unravel the emerging relationship. But then – she might not be the only one with secrets.

Christmas Joy by Nancy Naigle (Shop)

Joy takes a leave of absence from her job as a market researcher to run the family farm after her Aunt Ruby suffers a fall, even though the timing may hinder her chance at garnering the promotion of her dreams. Ben Andrews isn’t your average accountant. He also happens to be the handiest man in Crystal Falls. He’s helped his elderly neighbor, Ruby Johnson, decorate for the annual Christmas Home Tour—and win—the last several years. He’s not about to let some drop-in niece break their winning streak.

For the sake of her aunt, Joy is forced to partner with Ben while Ruby is on the mend to help with preparation for the Christmas tour and, in the process, finds her career-focused heart dreaming of a family. Will the magic of Christmas help her open her heart and find everlasting joy?

Festive Christmas Reads for the Holidays I Blogmas 2019

Seven Days of Us by Francesca Hornak (Shop)

It’s Christmas and the Birch family will be spending it together at Weyfield Hall, the family’s countryside estate, for the first time in years. Doctor Olivia has just returned from treating an epidemic abroad and both she and her family are forced to spend the holiday in quarantine. Under lock down, family secrets are revealed. After all, in such close quarters how could any secrets expect to stay hidden for long?

However, nothing is more shocking than the unexpected guests who is about to arrive.

Spirit of the Season by Fern Michaels (Shop)

Joy Preston misses her beloved late grandmother, but is also a little irked her Nana passed the family’s North Carolina Bed & Breakfast onto her. Joy lives in Denver and the B&B is located in a small town all the way in North Carolina. How could her grandma expect her to give up her entire career to takeover the family business? Frustrated, Joy sets out to survive just one holiday season at the B&B. It’s charming over Christmas, but she is determined to see the season out and move on.

During her return to the small town in NC, the whole town jumps in with the festivities and she is introduced to a handsome estate attorney named Will Drake. Will her holiday homecoming be the start of a new beginning for Joy?

Merry and Bright by Debbie MaComber (Shop)

Merry Knight is taking care of her family, baking cookies, decorating for the holidays, and hoping to stay out of the crosshairs of her boss at the consulting firm where she temps. Her own social life is the last thing on her mind, much less a man. Without her knowledge, Merry’s well-meaning mom and brother create an online dating profile for her—minus her photo—and the matches start rolling in. Initially, Merry is incredulous, but she reluctantly decides to give it a whirl.

Soon Merry finds herself chatting with a charming stranger, a man with similar interests and an unmistakably kind soul. Their online exchanges become the brightest part of her day. But meeting face-to-face is altogether different, and her special friend is the last person Merry expects—or desires. Still, sometimes hearts can see what our eyes cannot. In this satisfying seasonal tale, unanticipated love is only a click away.

Clinging to the victory of what so many fought for Clinging to the victory of what so many fought for in the 2020 election right now!! 🇺🇸

People from all walks of life united in numbers they never have before to steer our country in a better direction. Conversations amongst volunteers and voters took place not in person — but from the safety of their homes as they connected during a pandemic over countless Zoom meet-ups, text messages and phone calls. And the great State of Georgia too rose in record numbers to change the course of a congressional system that has been broken for far too long.

Through all of the challenges we’ve seen over the last several weeks but especially the last 48 hours, it is clear there is much work to be done.

But let the words of Ruth Bader Ginsberg remind us all the “Real change, enduring change, happens ONE step at a time.”

Here’s to taking many more steps, peacefully, together! 🇺🇸
