Admittedly, I don’t talk much about books around these parts. While I start a many, there are very few that hold my attention long enough to where I actually finish the story. This November, though, I discovered a little trick. Being such a big fan of the holidays, I sought out festive Christmas reads. The more they sounded like a Hallmark film? The better!
Turns out, this approach was effective because I’ve already finished several Christmasy books this season with many more sitting in the wings on my iPad.
Festive Christmas Reads for 2019
Whether you’re a struggling reader like me or an avid reader looking for new titles to add to your TBR, I hope today’s list of festive Christmas reads will be of use to you.
All of the books I’m sharing today are warm, uplifting reads geared towards getting you in the holiday spirit. They’re books that pair nicely with a plate of cookies as well as a mug of hot chocolate or tea.
These festive Christmas reads are also a great way to give yourself a well-deserved mental break. As you know, reading in general is a nice way to temporarily checkout from reality. As such, the books on this list are perfect for a little mental vacay. If you ask me, mentally traveling to a cozy world filled with happy endings is the perfect way to get in the spirit of the season. Happy reading!

First on my list of festive Christmas reads is Noel Street. The year is 1975. Elle Sheen is a single mother and waitress at the Noel Street Diner. She isn’t quite sure what to make of William Smith when his appearances causes quite a stir in the small town of Mistletoe, Utah. As their lives unexpectedly entwine, Elle learns that he is a recently returned Vietnam POW and is not only fighting demons from his past but may also have the answer to her own secret pain – a revelation that culminates in a remarkable act of love and forgiveness.
