Resort 2017 season continues with Josep Font’s first resort collection for Delpozo. #Stunning
Two things Spanish line Delpozo does well? Color and shape. And make no mistake, Josep Font did not hold back for the Resort 2017 collection – the brand’s first foray into resort-wear. The collection drew inspiration from Hollywood’s silent film cinematographer George Melies, who had a fascination with the sun and the moon…as well the depth of the ocean. With this in mind, Font delivered a spell-bounding collection that’s bursting with infectious energy and his signature vibrant colors.
Little known fact: I have a deep love affair with stars and have long desired a star tattoo — but have always been too chicken too bite the bullet. And so, it’s no surprise that star printed blouses and dresses enrapture my heart. My closet (and heart) aches for the star print designs, but my love for Delpozo’s Resort 2017 collection does not stop there.
The color palette intertwines crisp bold yellow, green and blue with neutral whites and sand – yielding a well-rounded collection that matches vivaciousness with sultry elegance.
And of course, it wouldn’t be a Delpozo collection without some rather striking shapely silhouettes. Josep Font’s Resort 2017 collection brings oversized ruffles, crisp A-lines, geometric bows and graceful inflated collars. For evening-wear, he took a very romantic approach, designing silk tulle gowns that will hopefully be gracing a major red carpet soon. (Kiera Knightley, looking to you…)
The collection also features fun slingback sandals and handbags that follow the lead of Dolce and Gabbana, where no embellishment or decoration is too much. They have a wonderful vacation-esque vibe and seem perfect for roaming around cobbled streets or the boardwalk on a romantic night out.
With another beautiful collection, I have to salute Josep Font for his continued winning streak at Delpozo – who is quickly becoming one of my seasonal favorites.
