Let’s be real: NO ONE likes a flat, dull complexion. Thus, when Philosophy‘s two-step Microdelivery Peel promises to rejuvenate and put life back into skin – I’m all over it! Being a regular Clarisonic user, I’m no stranger to exfoliation, but I do still routinely use a face mask 1-2 times a week. I’ll throw on a face mask, flip on the television and thumb through some magazines in an all around girly pampering ritual, that often includes a manicure.
But, as much as I like my pamper nights – sometimes I just don’t have the time to dedicate a good 30 minutes to my skin. Philosophy’s Microdelivery Peel promised results in a mere 3-4 minutes, making it perfect for those nights I’m in a rush or on mornings before work. #Score
Philosophy’s The Microdelivery Peel works to infuse your skin with Vitamin C and peptides, in two steps. This multi-step approach to a face mask confused me at first and yes, I absolutely did ask Google ‘How to use Philosophy’s Microdelivery Peel’ before I felt sure I was using it right.
Important note before using: DO NOT wet your skin. This really threw me, so I have to mention it. Typically, I apply a face mask after washing my face, making this non-wet skin direction even more confusing. No worries though, you can wash your face in advance. Only afterward, dry your face and allow a few minutes before you begin. (Or, this does work really well in the morning before applying makeup.)
In Step 1, take the citrus crystal paste and circulate around your face for a minute. It’s smooth, but gritty. Vary intensity depending on your skin type. Although, while my skin leans on the sensitive side…I had no issues with irritation or redness. A couple times, when my skin felt really icky, I applied this AFTER using my Clarisonic and still had no problems.
After exfoliating your skin for a minute, we’re on to Step 2! Take a nickle-ish sized amount of the gel and rub that OVER the crystal mixture on your face. The gel warms and soothes your skin, making this step extremely relaxing. For 2-3 minutes, allow the gel to seep into your skin and inject its Vitamin C and peptides to give that needed boost.
Lastly, rinse completely and you’re done!
Immediately you will notice your skin feeling supremely smooth and silky. In the mirror, you should recognize a true difference in your complexion. When I moved forward and applied my everyday makeup, I’d spy a radiant natural glow that wouldn’t be there without the peel.
Overall, I vote Philosophy’s Microdelivery Peel is a great way to give your skin a quick boost. The two-step process will exfoliate dull skin away, while replenishing and bringing to life new skin. No, the peel is not an immediate cure all for breakouts – but it should help prevent issues and keep your complexion looking clear and refreshed.
More and more, winter takes a real beating on my skin and last season – this peel was a true lifesaver! I found myself turning to the Microdelivery peel to quickly restore my skin and give the fresh-faced look I so love of the warmer spring and summer months. It’s certainly nice to have a a quick remedy in my skincare arsenal to put life back into my complexion. If you haven’t yet tried this, I say definitely give it a try!
