After last night’s MET Gala Costume Institute Ball red carpet I had to take a breather. There were so many knock out looks that I truly felt exhausted from the beauty. Screw the Academy Awards or any other awards show, this is the event of the year where people really go all out! And so, this is quite a lengthy list of favorites. There were just too many great looks that I couldn’t whittle it down any further.
Now, let’s break down the Best Dressed of the night!
|Anne Hathaway in Calvin Klein
Honestly, I do not think Anne Hathaway has ever looked so incredible! Don’t you wish this is what she wore last year to win her Academy Award? It’s vibrant, clean and extremely sleek. Gorgeous!!
|Blake Lively in Premiere Gucci
Old Hollywood glamour at it’s best! It’s been a minute since we’ve seen Blake on the red carpet and this was a welcomed return. She looked positively radiant!
|Charlize Theron in Dior
As tired as I am of Charlize being contractually obligated to wear Dior to everything (seriously Dior, lighten your grip on the reigns a bit…) she always manages to find a way to not make it completely boring. Perfection!
|Florence Welch in Maison Valentino
Oh hi there goddess of mine! Oh how I have missed you on the red carpet. Florence always makes such elegant fluid choices…so recent Valentino is a perfect fit.
|Georgie May Jagger Thierry Mugler
Very few women could pull this dress off. Thus, to see Georgie pull this off so flawlessly of course lands her on my Best Dressed.
|Kristen Wiig in Balenciaga
I love this, as it seems like a Charles James pantsuit. It’s cool and different, without being too casual ala Cara DeLevingne. I could totally get behind a Kristen/Balenciaga/Alexander Wang muse situation going on.
|Lily Aldridge in Michael Kors
This could very easily be the best thing Michael Kors has ever designed. Leave it to the gorgeous Lily Aldridge to point that out to the world.
|Margot Robbie in Prada
I love when people show up for the MET Gala in more casual looks. While it’s a ball, it also is an event celebrating fashion and the absence of rules. This is perfectly cool and collected.
|Michelle Williams in Louis Vuitton
As a face of Louis Vuitton, it wasn’t a surprise to see Michelle Williams sporting LV. It was, however, an unexpected twist to see her looking so mod and laid back. I find the detail of this really lovely.
|Rhianna in Stella McCartney
Like she often does, Rhianna completely stole the scene in this white Stella McCartney.
|Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Balmain
From maybe the strongest Fall 2014 collections, Rosie HW really kills it in this Balmain. The cool girl just got cooler.
|Suki Waterhouse in Custom Burberry
And last but not least is my ultimate favorite from last night’s red carpet! Before she arrived at the event she shared some Instagram shots of this gown and I dubbed it my favorite of the night before anyone else really had arrived. It’s a memorable dress and the way she carries it is so beautiful. Only a model could make this this great.
And, if you’re game for a snicker or three…be sure to check out my Worst Dressed list of the night!
