When it comes to Roberto Cavalli at Milan Fashion Week, the one thing I always expect: it’s going to be seriously cool. This season, was no exception with his signature detailed beading taking the traditional to a whole new level of cool. There’s lots to love of this collection. Like, for real…LOTS! Look after look I’m blown away thinking, surely…it has to stop somewhere. And, of course, it never does.
The show began with a range of really cool printed pant suits, topped with fur shrugs and coats. Then we moved into leather fringed get ups that take the fringe trend to places you probably never imagined. The flapper look is also a huge part of this collection, taking Daisy Buchanan to a much darker place. Fire also comes in. I mean, there’s so much happening in this entire collection you have to break it down.
Enter my favorite look of the show, nay, my favorite look of all the Fashion Week shows. I LOVE this ornate blue number. It’s classic Cavalli at it’s best, with such a gorgeous and pure blue. I wish this look was expanded into more styles. But as is, it’s so great that it really does stand alone as a real highlight.
A Kiss of Red
Red becomes the perfect accent color to take these dresses to a whole new level. From beaded detail, to a burning flame – these vibrant looks really spice up the collection. (As if the collection wasn’t hot enough!)
