Happy Sunday everyone!
My Ipsy Glam Bag came a little late this month, but better late than never right? I was very anxiously awaiting it’s arrival as I knew from seeing others’ bags that this month it would contain something from Em Cosmetics and I’ve been dying to try their stuff for myself. (I really want their contouring pen for my nose! Anyone try it yet?)
Without any more fuss, let’s get to what matters here: my new lipstick!
Creamy Classic Lipstick in ‘Nude’ ($16.50)
At first thought I was pretty disappointed be receiving a nude lipstick. I tend to go for colors that are bold! But then I thought again, because this would be my first real nude lipstick and it actually looks pretty lovely on. The formula of this is very creamy and moisturizing. It’s nearly as great as the Laura Mercier formula that I love. I’m excited now for this and already thinking of branching out into the color range of the collection. It’s hard to find a lipstick that’s truly creamy and this fits the bill!
Be a Bombshell Lip Crayon in ‘Hot Damn’ ($14)
I’ve recently fallen in love with the Revlon Color Burst Matte lip crayon in Standout, so am excited to try a new version for a comparison. And if you know me, you know I’m all about a red lip so this is a welcomed edition to my family of red lip products!
NYX Eyeshadow in ‘Ombre’ ($2.49)
NYX eyeshadows are of my drugstore favorites. They’re super pigmented and are very soft so blend very easily. This isn’t my first time receiving one in my glam bag, so that was a little meh…but I’m excited about this color.
Here are the lip products and eyeshadow swatched:
Nailtini Straight Up Colour Nail Lacquer in ‘Champagne’ ($13)
With rose gold being all the rage, this excites me. I think this will be beautiful for the holidays and am even thinking of turning this into a unique French manicure using this as the tips over red nails. I think that would be very festive and fun for the holidays. Can you tell am I excited for Christmas? I’m ready!!
Pixi Beauty Bronzer in ‘Subtly Suntouched’ ($5.65)
I’ve seen Pixi hanging out at Target before, and have wondered if it’s any good. What’s great about Ipsy: they give you the chance to try new brands. Now that we’re into winter…it’s officially bronzer season so we don’t look like pale albinos walking down the street. I’m excited to have a new one to use 🙂
Starlooks Eye Pencil in ‘Topaz’ ($14)
It’s a little desperate that every month I receive a new full-sized pencil from Starlooks. It also doesn’t encourage me to ever want to purchase one because if this keeps up I’ll own the entire collection at now additional cost. Bottom line, these aren’t that great. Even when giving them away for free, I’m not going to get excited about this pencil. I think you’re better off using an eye pencil by say Jordana or Wet n’ Wild. These are not creamy. They don’t last. And they’re basically a big turn off.
Total Value of My Glam Bag = $65.64
Not bad for only $10 a month 🙂 If you are not subscribed to Ipsy, I highly recommend getting signed up today!
