Sadly, October, one of my favorite months, is over. Upside? That means we’re heading full speed ahead into Christmas which is my favorite time of the year 🙂
I have quite a few favorites this month, so I’m going to just jump into them!
Philosophy ‘Living Grace’ Body Oil:
I got this in a Living Grace set and used it a tad, but in the month of October I became obsessed with it. I used this nearly everyday this month and you can tell, a little bit goes a long way as there is much left! Many obsess over the Amazing Grace scent from Philosophy, but this version is my favorite. It’s a little heavier and lingers longer. Amazing Grace is too soft…this is perfect. I spritz this all over after a bath or shower and it lingers on my skin for hours. Love this stuff!
Urban Decay Palette:
I got this a while ago, and forgot about it. I pulled it out in October and used it like crazy. As you can tell, it’s a well loved. It’s really a great palette for fall as there are autumnal browns, golds, and purples…but things can get a bit funky with a green and blue. Those might look scary, but actually look really pretty softened with ‘Shag’.
Aveda Volumizing Tonic:
I’ve had this for a while and honestly kind of forgot about it…but rediscovered it this month and used it like crazy. Spritz this at the roots of wet hair and blow dry with a round brush at the roots…and this will give you a generous amount of volume. Aveda products also smell incredible, which is an added bonus.
Beauty Protector ‘Protect and Detangle’:
I got this in a Birchbox a while ago and only started using it this month…and I love it. In fact, I have it ordered and on the way. It smells like heaven and also does a really nice job as a detangler and adds a nice amount of shine to the hair. This paired with the Volumizing Tonic were my go-to duo of the month when it came to my hair…and it’s November now and they’re still going strong!
Kevin Murphy Powder Puff:
Last month I went to an event at a salon. The stylish retouched my hair and used this to create a lot of volume. Naturally, I was taken with this because it’s like a powder that works into a product…and does great a lot of lift in your hair. It wasn’t cheap, which makes me question if I’ll rebuy it…but I do really love this. The great thing about this product is you can actually revive your hair after a long day. Just rub your hair up a bit from your scalp and this reenergizes this product. Let me know if you know of a cheaper version that works well 🙂
Bare Minerals Flawless Radiance:
This is my new favorite loose powder. I use this nearly everyday to set my foundation and concealer and have yet to be disappointed by it. It lasts a long time and does not get cakey or show wear/weird texture on your skin at all! I was disappointed in the lip products I picked up from Bare Minerals last month but this is a gem. I highly hightly recommend this!
Night Film by Marisha Pessl:
All through October I watched scary movies and read thrillers/mysteries, in honor of Halloween. This book was AMAZING! It’s the best thriller I’ve read in ages. And yes, that goes for all the Gillian Flynn books which frankly I think are overrated. This was such a fun read and I literally was sad when it ended. I don’t want to give anything away, but this will have you captivated from beginning to end…and probably scare you a little. It even creeped me out a tad, and I’m nearly impossible to scare or freak out. Great read!
