Today I have a bit of fashion and beauty envy. Whose look am I lusting after? Miss Lily Collins’ hair, makeup and gown from the 2013 Glamour Magazine Women of the Year Awards. I believe I’ve mentioned on my blog how I always keep an eye out for what Lily wears to events because she has such an interesting sense of style and is truly a classic beauty. It doesn’t take much to make her look good, but add amazing makeup by Lancome and you can’t go wrong.
Wearing Spring 2014 Julien Macdonald, Lily looks gorgeous. I truly feel flesh tone dresses are most flattering on ivory skin such as Lily’s. It is so soft and striking, drawing your eyes to the intricate detailing of the bodice. It’s part warrior princess and part Grecian goddess.
What’s 100% awesome is her makeup. Obviously this is Lily Collins we’re talking about with a mighty fortress of a brow…add in a bold merlot lip and you can’t go wrong. This is a gorgeous look for someone of fair skin but also for this time of year. It’s very matte and compliments the season nicely. The delicate and ethereal qualities of this dress are off-balanced by that bold makeup in a way that works together flawlessly.
And her hair is precious. I’m in the process of growing my hair out but this has me itching to call my stylist up to go short. Of course I don’t have the perfect facial structure of a porcelain goddess like Lily…so yea, there’s that.
What do you think of this look? Would you change anything?
