It’s that time again, to celebrate a fellow blogger! One of the first UK blogs I fell in love with belongs to the lovely Gabriella at Brighton Girl Blogger. Gabriella is a UK based blogger and she focuses on beauty and fashion, as well as lifestyle posts. Recently she took an amazing trip to Morocco so you could also say she’s a bit of a travel blogger. It’s always fun when she posts a new posts because you never know quite what to expect 🙂
An interesting fact about Gabriella is that she does work as a model. This gives her blog some insight into the world of fashion that your typical fashion blog might not be able to share. If you haven’t yet checked out her blog, definitely do so!
Take-Five with Gabriella:
1. What’s the best part about blogging?
The opportunities which have come about because of my blog; as well as the chance to chat with people from all over the world who read my blog or take part in the twitter chats.
2. Has modelling given you any insight or changed your perspective about fashion in a way you didn’t expect?
In some ways modelling has opened the way I view fashion, particularly in the way that I can look at a magazine cover or fashion shoot and appreciate how much hard work (the hours of prep and organization, etc.) has gone into getting that one cover shoot or look. I also have personally experienced a negative side of the fashion industry with how b*tchy it can be, but like all professionals if you don’t find a way to deal with the competition you won’t ever be happy as it is such a competitive industry!
3. If you only had time to grab one piece of makeup before rushing out the door, what would you choose?
Red lipstick. Either Ruby Woo by MAC or Sleek’s Stiletto!
4. Who is a modern style icon of yours?
Alexa Chung, Millie Mac and Cara
5. What’s one bit of fashion advice you’d give to any girl?
Wear shoes you can walk in and feel comfortable. There is no point wearing heals if you have to trot everywhere! (This rule does not apply to Crocs and socks. I don’t care how comfy they are!!) Also, don’t follow fashion trends religiously just because it’s ‘fashionable,’ put your own twist on a trend you like.
Bonus: What is your #1 guilty pleasure?
Nutella with banana!
A big thank you goes out to Gabriella for answering these questions for us. And I completely agree, Crocs and socks together are not a good look. Crocs separately isn’t a good look either but that’s a whole other post…
