Marc Jacobs announced the end of an era, ending his 16 year career at Louis Vuitton. And his swan song, was a dark, jewel encrusted collection with breathtaking headpieces. It’s the black swan of swan songs. I don’t know why I was so caught off guard by him leaving the brand, since he has his own company that’s doing amazing…it just felt like a bittersweet moment in fashion and he’ll be very missed.
Thank you Marc Jacobs for entertaining Louis Vuitton fans all these years. While it is the end of an era, (or dynasty really) and you’ll be very very missed…it is exciting to see where the brand will go from here. I can’t think of a more appropriate and touching way to bid farewell to Paris Fashion Week, and fashion month…than to honor the genius that is Marc Jacobs. It’s been an amazing month of breathtaking fashion, and I’m sad to see it all come to an end (till February).
And, with no more ado, I present highlights of Marc’s final Louis Vuitton collection in a larger than life presentation. The man does not to minimal well at all, and I love him for it.
