Well, September is officially over, and with it goes all of the fashion weeks, summer, and two of my favorite television shows. I hope everyone had an amazing month. It certainly flew by, but I am really excited to be in the month of October. October-December is such a great time of year with all the best holidays and all the beautiful shades of fall. But before I can ring all that goodness in, I have to share with you my monthly favorites! These posts are my very very favorite to read…and possibly to write. These are the things that kept me happy all month long and will probably continue to through October 🙂
Let’s get started!
Sweet Tango Apple
It may seem weird to include an apple in a monthly favorites (okay, definitely weird)…but this was my number one favorite find. I’m a huge apple fan and am always on a hunt for the crispest, sweetest, apples around. This month I found just that in this crisp crisp bit of heaven. Best apple ever. Seriously! I was eating 2-3 of these a day to be honest. I pretty much live off things things. If you can find these, buy a whole bunch of them!
Earth Theraputics Peace Potion Massage Lotion
Aromatherapy Massage Lotion
I’ve had a bit of a stressful month and this stuff was heaven in a tube. It’s a chamomile lavender lotion that you massage into your neck, shoulders, chest, and anywhere else you’d like. It’s seriously magical stuff. It smells amazing and has a very cooling effect that’s really pleasant. It’s the combination of the smell and the coolness that makes this very relaxing and you can feel stress just melt away! I definitely suggest this!
Freeman Clay Mask
Avocado and Oatmeal Clay Mask:
Early this month I had a bad reaction to a new foundation and my whole face broke out in an uncomfortable rash and a series of blemishes. This would be bad enough, but worse was this happened the week of a big event. So I went on a beauty detox, working overtime to do everything I could to clear up my skin and that’s where this gem came in. This really helped clear up my skin in a flash and everything was gone by the big night. (Some of you have requested I share everything I did and I will at some point this month :)) This is also super cheap, so what’s not to love?
ELF Contour Blush & Bronzer Duo
E.L.F. Blush/Bronzer Duo
I picked this up at Target for super cheap a while ago, but didn’t get around to trying it till last month and I fell in love with it. The quality is actually pretty good and I love how useful and compact this is. The blush is a really pretty soft peach that’s really great and natural. The bronzer is matte and while you have to go a little light handed with it, has taken over my Laura Mercier bronzer as my go-to favorite.
YSL Rouge Volupte in Forbidden Burgandy (12)
I wore this lipstick like crazy in September. It’s the perfect dusty rose for fall and is super moisturizing. This is my first time ever trying a Laura Mercier lipstick and I have to say, I’m super impressed. When I purchased this, the MAC gal had to help me and even she admitted this formula is amazing. Dunno why it took me so long to get on board with their lipsticks as I like lots of other stuff from Laura Mercier, but now that I know, I’m sold!
Rimmel Apocalips in Celestial
I wrote a blog earlier this month on how much I’ve fallen in this lip lacquer’s from Rimmel (read here) and the love affair didn’t stop there! This is my favorite shade and this also got a lot of lip action from me this month. I just love how these go on like a gloss but act like a lipstick. It’s like the perfect marriage of the two!

OPI Keeping Suzi at Bay & H&M’s Midnight Passion
Keeping Suzi at Bay:
This polish from OPI’s San Francisco collection was a heavy hitter for me in September. To me this is the perfect transitional blue for summer to fall. It’s the perfect midpoint between the brighter blues of summer and the deeper navies of fall. The whole collection is full of lovely shades for fall but this one is my favorite.
I love deep merlot nail polishes and this from H&M is my new favorite. This is very rich on the nails. The formula is creamy, it goes on smoothly, and with two coats you get a deep finish. The wear is also pretty good! If you haven’t tried H&M’s nail polishes before, this is one I’d pick up asap for fall!
Breaking Bad & Dexter:
Two of my all time favorite television shows are Breaking Bad and Dexter. And sadly, both came to an end in the month of September. So of course they have to be included in my favorites because I enjoyed watching them and seeing how things would all play out in the end. These are lifetime favorites really, not just September favorites, but because this was their final month I had to include them. And yes, I did include Breaking Bad in my August Favorites…but who cares? I still love it! haha
And that’s everything I was loving all month long! Like I said, these are my favorite posts to read so if you make videos or have your own blog and made your own list…please share with me those links! I just love seeing what everyone chooses for these monthly favorites!
Oh, and *phew* I survived my first fashion month. It was so much fun blogging many of the collections but definitely kept me too busy to focus on product reviews and what not. Things will go back in that direction now as I’ve been trying lots of new things I want to share with everyone so stay tuned!
