It’s got to be something special to make me want to get out of bed on a Saturday morning at 7 am. Let’s just be honest about that :p And so, of course I was excited to attend Nordstrom‘s amazing beauty event, their Wake Up Pretty Party. Last week I shared with you my wishlist for this event as excitement for this event built. What is the Pretty Party? It’s a store-wide event (that will take place at Nordstrom’s across the country throughout fall) where all the beauty counters collaborate together to share what’s hot with their brand right now and how to create trends from the Fall runways using their products. They talk about everything that’s big in skincare and makeup, and then you have the opportunity to have your own makeup done, and brands all have really great gift with purchases, etc. to entice you even more. It’s basically the perfect event, in a nutshell.
The morning started with complimentary refreshments and the hottest coffee ever. I nearly burned off my fingerprints serving up that coffee to myself and my friend (haha). Then two of the cosmetic managers of Nordstrom host a series of brand videos and guests that showcase the best of the best for that brand at the moment.

We learned about new products in skincare. We learned how to create this year’s new smokey eye. We discussed award winning products. They also had loads of giveaways for audience members and even a game. ‘What’s in your bag?’ make up addition. I nearly dislocated my shoulder racing to raise my arm (and won twice). I always love a game and given that I have tons of stuff in my bag, this was right up my alley. Though, I do draw the line at a full-sized foundation (which more than one lady in the audience had on them haha).

The show was highly entertaining with lively hosts and guests. Everyone seemed to have a really great time and learn something along the way. Being someone who believes in spreading the wealth when it comes to beauty products, it was nice to see so many brands highlighted. Everything felt very genuine too, and not like a lame sales pitch. It was nice to be among like-minded people who just love beauty products and were there for a good time.
After the show was over we all DISPERSED to the makeup counters where everyone was excited for makeup appointments and to see all the goodies up for sale. Our appointments weren’t until 1 pm so we had plenty time to peruse the counters (and even stop at H&M and other stores).
