Lanvin is always a highlight of Paris Fashion Week, with their dramatic glamour that’s a true luxury. Their Spring/Summer 2014 Collection was said to be a take of hope, and while I have to strongly disagree when looking at it that anyone would see hope, I do think you’ll find a series of looks that will inspire you to live a little, maybe even wildly.
This season, like Gucci, Lanvin is taking us back to the days of disco. Is someone reopening Studio 54? Because we certainly have a surplus of fashion to wear. The colors are rich and they sheen beautifully in the dark lighting of the show, which started off with a blast of fog even (which only adds to the nightclub theme and subtracts from the hope claim). But no matter what the inspiration is for this collection, it’s got a a nice vibe to it. It’s sophisticated party girl. A party girl whose lived a little and isn’t afraid to take risks. A party girl whose been around the block once or twice and isn’t about to be a fly on the wall. No, she wants to be front and center, all eyes on her.
So take a trip down disco memory lane, and take in the shimmering sights that is Lanvin this season.
