As New York Fashion Week winds down for its final day tomorrow, Rebecca Minkoff‘s Spring 2014 collection still lingers on my mind. Living in a very hot and humid climate, when summer rolls around my style always takes a bit of a beating. It’s hard to work up the inspiration to throw together an outfit so I readily ease into loose summer dresses and shorts. So the relaxed feel of Rebecca Minkoff’s collection struck a chord wit me.
These flowing florals are perfect for sticky weather. They’re casual and breezy, but also have an air of elegance to them. I love how Rebecca used this print into a variety looks that would fit your preppy young girl and your hipster.
Shorts were also a strong part of this collection. Loosely styled this are pulled together looks that are stylish and casual.
My favorite look of the collection, though, is this lace pencil skirt and athletic sweater over a conversation tee. “Let’s go to Mexico” it reads and it has me longing for the turns of time to rewind and it to be the start of summer all over again. This summer was a strange one for me and I missed out on the festivals and concerts that usually pack my calendar. I’d love to go back to the start and wear some of these looks…or speed up the hands of time to summer 2014, which with Rebecca Minkoff’s help will have young girls feeling comfortable all summer long.
