Turns out, not everything works out as well as you’d hope! Let’s have a chat about overrated makeup products that simply don’t live up to the hype (or expectations).
My March beauty and makeup favorites list isn’t too long this month, but believe me when I say these are f-a-v-o-r-i-t-e-s! As in, at any given moment through the month of March I was wearing one, if not all, of the above. Best part, it required no shopping on my part! All of these guys have just been hanging around in my vanity waiting to be devoured…and boy did I devour them!
As well as Snapchat, The Black Keys and Netflix’s latest series: Bloodline!
Let’s hit pause on the Fall/Winter 2015 runways to talk about a revolutionary product that makes my mornings SO much simpler: the face palette trio! One emerging trend in 2014 were these great little gems that make doing your face LITERALLY as easy as one, two three! And let’s face it, when hovering over a strong cup of coffee in the morning just trying to hold it together…I appreciate the foolproof approach to getting my face done with little to no thought at all. When it comes down to it, it really is the little things in life that make all the difference.
Let’s take hands and kumbaya about our love for the three-step palette!
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is a strong favorite in the beauty community, but does come at a hefty price tag. Good news? I’ve found a dupe in the drugstore that I like possibly even more! NYX Cosmetics‘ HD Concealer is a significantly more affordable option that is just as creamy and blendable as our beloved one from NARS. Maybelline’s Fit Me concealer is often thought of as a dupe, but I find it doesn’t give as great a coverage as the NARS’ concealer. Imagine my surprise then when I learn that NYX’s concealer comes with even a touch more coverage! Say, what?! Yes. More, indeed.
Happy Holidays dreamers! Does anyone else get as excited by Christmas as I do? It’s ABSOLUTELY my very favorite time of the year. There’s magic and joy around the holidays that reflects in all of us, and radiates out of our Christmas trees. For me, December has been a bit interesting. I underwent my 4th back surgery at the beginning of the month and recovery from that has had ups and downs. Luckily, my love for the holiday season is so strong not even surgery can kill my Christmas spirit! Seriously, it’s been holiday central in my world. I’ve got the Hallmark channel on 24/7 and jumbo Santa mugs overflowing with hot chocolate on the regular. Definitely no case of the Scrooge happening here!
What has been fun this December is ditching the foundation and going for very easy makeup looks. But no, easy doesn’t have to mean boring! I’ve concocted a super easy holiday makeup look that will have you looking and feeling festive in no time at all – red lip included. This holiday makeup tutorial is perfect for any festive occasion, including noshing on Christmas cookies with Netflix 😉
