The good, the bad…the absolutely hideous. Let’s break down the 2018 Met Gala Red Carpet, shall we?
Oh guys!! After skipping Awards season because I wasn’t here for the Hollywood BS this year…it feels like WAY too long since we’ve had a good ole’ red carpet fashion gush fest.
Enter the 2018 Met Gala red carpet and I think we have MORE than enough to catch up on.
This year, the Met Gala’s theme was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” and oh boy…were there A LOT of headpieces and crosses. (Naturally.) It was also one of the most well-attended Met Galas in recent history. From Blake Lively to basically all the Kardiashian-Jenners, to JLo and my trifecta of girl crushes: Hailey Baldwin, Lily Collins and Kate Bosworth….there was lots to see!
2018 Met Gala Red Carpet : The Good and The Bad
There was a time when I preferred to create separate “Best” and “Worst” dressed lists, but I simply don’t think you can appreciate the depth of the 2018 Met Gala red carpet without seeing it all together. And so I’ve rounded up probably my biggest photo gallery to date for your viewing pleasure.
Think of it like one MASSIVE sartorial feast for your eyes. Like the Golden Corral, except not tacky and filled with high fashion instead of grease.
To prime you for the photo gallery of all the night’s looks below, here are some highlights I want to draw your attention to.
Let’s start things off with Lily Collins in Givenchy. From head to toe, I’m obsessed with this look and think we should all start drawing tear drops onto our faces just for the heck of it.
Every year Lily’s ‘one to watch’ on the red carpet, but this year I think she’s really come into her own. Casting directors needs to cast her in something brilliant – because girl deserves way more roles than she’s been getting and I want to see her do something epic!
With the Royal Wedding less than two weeks away, I can’t help but envision myself as Kate Bosworth in Oscar de la Renta in my very own fantasy Royal wedding.
I mean sure, this is kind of a bridal look…but who cares? It’s spot on perfect for the night’s theme and Kate looks exquisite! Absolutely obsessed with this look and predict it will land a spot on my top 10 looks of 2018. Flawless!
Someone I don’t think we see on the red carpet enough is Amanda Seyfried, but in this striking marigold Prada she turned up on the 2018 Met Gala red carpet ready to set the record straight.
After her sister Bella Hadid turned out to be a big disappointment on the red carpet (more on that in the gallery), Gigi Hadid‘s appearance in this shimmering mermaid Versace gown was a total treat. She was one of the later ones to appear on the red carpet – and boy was it an appearance worth waiting for.
Truly, if there was a designer of the night Donatella Versace takes the cake. Atelier Versace was the hero of the evening with many of the night’s standout looks.
