Dreamers, let’s call a wrap on week one of the 2015 Cannes Film Festival! And oh what a week it was. With red carpet queens like Cate Blanchett, Diane Kruger & Lupita Nyong’o in the mix, there was some stiff competition to battle into my Top 10 Best Dressed List. But, after the blood, sweat and tears — let’s see who reigns supreme, for now.
Cate Blanchett in Giles Deacon
Cate Blanchett is always one to keep us guess, and keep us guessing she did when she appeared on the red carpet in this grandiose print gown from Giles Deacon. It was a major fashion moment we won’t soon forget. (See more here!)
Diane Kruger in Prada
Prada has had some lackluster red carpet appearances over the past few years, with collections weighing heavily on the casual side. As such, it was a nice breath of fresh air to see Prada return to red carpet glamour with none other than everyone’s favorite fashion bae Diane Kruger. Well played, Prada!
Emily Blunt in Stella McCartney
Emily Blunt was one of my unsung heroes at the Met Gala this year. Her Prada flew severely under the radar and I’m glad to see her continue that winning streak at Cannes. This is sleek, modern and a whole lot of fun.
Emma Stone in Christian Dior
Leave it to Emma Stone to blow some wind in Dior’s fading sails.
Julianne Moore in Givenchy
Because Lord knows, I never tire of a lady in red…especially a red head, in velvet.
Lea Seydoux in Miu Miu
With Mad Men sadly coming to an end, I reveled in the sight of this very Betty Draper-esque Miu Miu on the stunning French actress Lea Seydoux. With red carpets overflowing in sheer, lacy numbers by Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab…it’s nice to be reminded that the standard classics still got it!
Erin O’Conner in Ralph & Russo
A red dress is only made better when tied with a bow.
Lupita Nyong’o in Gucci
Gucci is in the midst of a transition phase, so a major red carpet moment like this is JUST what they needed. Leave it to Lupita, the queen of the twirl – to dazzle us all in this flowing emerald green. I actually made a full post about this, check it out here!
Sienna Miller in Sonia Rykiel
Guess what? I might have a ridiculous obsession with stars. I also might have a ridiculous obsession with black velvet. Throw the two together with a bold lip and chic braids? #winning!
Sienna Miller in Valentino
Bae Sienna Miller was bound to appear in at least one ‘to die for’ hobo chic look, and I couldn’t be more thrilled that she opted for this Spring 2015 couture Valentino. Honestly, I don’t think anyone else could pull this off, or do this justice, on the red carpet. Bow down to Sienna. *bow*
